Promise - When In Rome

This is one of the fast songs that I liked. Here is the lyrics:
If you need a friend, don't look to a stranger
You know in the end, I'll always be there.

And when you're in doubt, and when you're in danger
Take a look all around, and I'll be there.

I'm sorry, but I'm just thinking of the right words to say. (I promise)
I know they don't sound the way I planned them to be. (I promise)
But if you'll wait around a while, I'll make you fall for me,
I promise, I promise you I will.

When your day is through, and so is your temper
You know what to do, I'm gonna always be there.

Sometimes if I shout, it's not what's intended.
These words just come out, with no gripe to bear.

I'm sorry, but I'm just thinking of the right words to say. (I promise)
I know they don't sound the way I planned them to be. (I promise)
But if you'll wait around a while, I'll make you fall for me,
I promise, I promise you...

I gotta tell ya, I need to tell ya, I gotta tell ya, I gotta tell yaaaa ...

I'm sorry, but I'm just thinking of the right words to say. (I promise)
I know they don't sound the way I planned them to be. (I promise)
And if I had to walk the world, I'd make you fall for me,
I promise, I promise you I will ... I will... I will... I will

Now the story:
This song particularly struck me because of it's title -PROMISE!

Growing up, I could count the times that I made a promise. This is because when I was still younger, I was often told "You cannot keep your promise!" and I would simply defend: "Promises are made to be broken anyway" ;-)

Since then, I told myself not to make anymore promises, I promised myself. Once in a while, I still make promises but I cross rivers and move mountains to make sure I keep them. Sometimes still, I just do things which I do not promised to keep. When I utter a word now, I omit the word promise but still implied I was making a promise.

Life is really funny... at least that's how I try to make it with mine. Despite that, I still love this song so here it is from Imeem. Enjoy!
