Be Mine, My Forever

Thank you for bringing back the poet in me.

This is for you.

BE MINE, MY FOREVER

let me be better
by being my forever
'cause u and i together
would be a perfect couple

be mine alone is my prayer
be mine... until forever
for you are my laughter
my life and my all

you brought words to a letter
you brought brightness to my future
you are a meaning to ponder
you are my life's greatest wonder

for your smile inspires
your beauty abounds me
your sweetness my desire
your love sustains me

My Solace in Your Song

Poem entry for today.

MY SOLACE IN YOUR SONG

I look to where the voice is coming from
I look for you followed not for a frown
But with a heart that’s delighted with your song
A love song I haven’t heard for so very long.

Your song would paint a smile in my face
My heart that’s wanting in music’s embrace
For you give life to the lyrics in the way you sing
I now could feel your warmth from within.

You attracted my heart to emotion
You lulled me to love not by reason
In your heart I found my place
Your song is my lifelong solace.

My heart with love you touched
In your song I’ve loved you so much
You and me there’s love we found
Serenaded by lyrics and sound.

I’ve mustered all my strength to kiss those lips
To capture your mouth’s tune in lyrics
For your love is the harmony singing in my ears
My love I have offered in the waves of forever.

My Surprise

Poetic License renewed...

read on.

You're my surprise

You came to me so near
A sweet face so pretty clear
I stole a kiss covered with fear
And I wouldn't regret it my dear

you were not just nice
I wanted you as my prize
Thoughts of you were my vice
With your smile I am mesmerized

Your every breath I'd capture
Your every beat I'd secure
I foresee just us in the future
For me with u is a perfect picture

You amazed me not just in beauty
And also your brain outwit many
With you I'd fall in love insanely
It's you I desire ultimately!!!

You came to me as a surprise
A help, a blessing in dsiguise
The smile you bring to my eyes
I love you, I couldn't do otherwise

Shadow Dance - Poem Again

Sharing a poem from a friend.

SHADOW DANCE

I looked at you, long and deep
Wishing you'd rise from your sleep.
I gently held your soft hand
Needing you beside me to stand.

To the sound of our song, I asked
"May I please have this dance?"
You stood instantly without hesitation
So glad you heeded my invitation.

Feeling your body so close to me
Our slow dance calmed all my anxiety
For you know dancing isn't easy
More so asking to dance with my baby.

We danced in the darkness of night
Nothing around, no one in sight.
Just you and me on the dance floor
but still feeling sheepish after all.

I love our shadow as we danced
Thank you for this wonderful chance
To feel you close to me
To feel your heartbeat one with me.

We danced the evening away
No one else but our shadow in unity
This is for the love we share alone
but not for the world to know.

We had our shadow dance in the darkness
Like the love we have to hold in secret.
Nothing else to ask for once you're mine
And perhaps forever we'd dance, in time.

LIFE IS BUT A SONG - Poem by A Dew

Sharing with you a poem by A DEW. A very special person in my heart.

Life Is But a Song

When things just seem too hard to take
And you fell your heart is ready to break
Fear not my friend, your sorrow and ache
Are but a prelude of the song you make.

For life is but a song, my friend
It has a beginning, it has an end
The lyrics may be sad but sweet the refrain
Sing it with your heart a soft, mellow strain.

Life is a song floating in the air
Waiting for you to take it from there
Give it form and music, see how you fare
Sad or happy, it’s your song, as it were.

Despair not if the song you make is sad
Or the lyrics you have written are bad
Sing it still; it’s your song, no matter what
The sad note will end, soon you’ll be glad.

A dew

In My Life - Aiza Seguerra

I skipped classes today to visit my maternal grandmother, with my sister's family. It's been almost a month since I wrote an entry here. My case digest are still in the "editor's mill" after everything has been encoded.

Going back to my entry for the day. This song, with Aiza Seguerra as the one particularly singing, at the back of m head, kept ringing in my head while I picture my "lola" in my head. She is not getting any younger and so I decided to pay her a visit so that I could have a much fresher memories of her. I don't recall the last time we saw each other and probably it was not a good encounter because it was in the midst of family feud so most likely, that meeting was devoid of any affection.

I was tasked to drive back home a while ago. It was a two-hour drive and although I was sleepy and tired, I managed to stay awake, just like any driver would do, and again, this was the only song playing in my head. I think this is more of a love song but after hours of chat with my lola, about anything under the sun and under her nose, I realized, In my life... there is her.

In the midst of our conversation, I blurted to her that, if not because of her, there would be no "me". That's logical, but that is also what I was trying to let her know that her grandchildren love her and honor her and love her more than her children. Of course I can only talk about my generation, it's up to my mom's, and her siblings to let her know how much they value her as a mom.

However, I can attest to the fact that my mom loves her so dearly. I am taking this opportunity to publish mom's poem for my lola, written more that a couple of decades ago. Instead of the lyrics of the song In My Life, below is the poem:

Mother Mine

mother mine,
i've such sweet memories of thee
how you used to guide
and teach me endlessly
when i was a child.

mother mine,
i remember when you were younger
you had a beautiful smile
and your eyes used to sparkle
when you laughed.

mother mine,
i can still see your beautiful face
like then one in the old photograph
of you and dad in your prime,
when you laguhed.

mother mine,
i quite distinctly recall
the hard times you've gone through
in trying to give us all
the best in life.

mother mine,
you went through a lot of hardship and pain
you gave the best of yourself
to us, your dozen children
and you still do.
God bless you,
mother mine!

Time and Tide - Basia

by BLOGTEST

She definitely enjoys lifetime free rent in my head and in my heart.

Ever experienced closing your eyes and the face you see is a familiar one, a familiar smile, a familiar place. It was not a dream, it was a picture that has surely found a spot in this small yet, highly convoluted brain. Like a camera ready to capture a moment once I close my eyes. It captures a picture... each time... I close... my eyes. Perhaps the picture has always been there, embedded even before I was born.

I want to think of it that way because up until now, the biggest spot in my heart she rightfully owned, whole-heartedly offerred, willfully accepted.

One moment it was you
Another, again it was you
Yet another moment was you
Yes because it has always been you.

I think of you once again
Whether my eyes are close or open
I remember you in silence
You and me I imagine.

Pardon my behavior
My feelings are cold often and
more
But as sunshine is sure
You and me forever and more.

================================
It's hard for me to stop my heart
love never knows when the time is right
I don't want to hurt anybody
but can't help loving you

I never felt like this before
I know this is passion worth waiting for
let love take take its course
that's the only thing for us to do

We got time, oh baby, there's no rush
gonna be a better day for us
hang on and I will wait for you
our love will always stay as good as new

Time and tide
nothing and no one can stop us now
for better for worse
this time I'm sure it's gonna last
How can I stop my heart?
Love never knows when the time is right
don't want to hurt anybody
don't want to make them cry
don't want to make them cry

We got time, oh baby, there's no rush
gonna be a better day for us
hang on and I will wait for you
our love will always stay as good as new

Time and tide
nothing and no one can stop us now
for better for worse
this time I'm sure it's gonna last
How can I stop my heart?
Love never knows when the time is right
don't want to hurt anybody
don't want to make them cry
don't want to make them cry

Pag-Ibig sa Tinubuang Lupa - Inang Laya

I saw my blogsite statistics and it turned out that majority of my entries last July was about OPM or Original Pilipino Music. Here in the Philippines, we celebrate Buwan ng Wika (It means "Month of Language", our native language which is Filipino). There is some sort of confusion between "Pilipino and Filipino" even before when I was still in college. I am not sure if this is still being observed this day because before, when you say Pilipino with the "P", it pertains to the person, the citizens of the Philippines. Filipino, on the other hand, with the "F" pertains to the language or what is commonly known as "tagalog".

It was during my college days that some words were changed and I wonder if the Committee tasked to come up with a Filipino Dictionary is successful. I'd somehow agree because I observe the technicals. In fact, I mentioned to you from my previous post that I was tasked to edit a Philosophy book by Willhelm Wittgenstein translated in Filipino. It was one of our projects in Philosphy, which was my major course at the University.

This is a new favorite song of mine because it speaks about love for the motherland, the Philippines. It was written by a well-known hero who revolted against Spanish conquerors in the 19th Century. He is Gat Andres Bonifacio. His life depicted the lives of most Filipinos because he also came from poor family.

And the rest is history...

By the way, Buwan ng Wika is also celebrated in commemoration of the birthday or the first President of the Philippin Commowealth Manuel L. Quezon. One of the cities in Manila was named after him - Quezon City.

Pag-ibig sa Tinubuang Lupa (Love for Birthland*)
Andres Bonifacio

Aling pag-ibig pa ang hihigit kaya (which love could be greater)
Sa pagkadalisay at pagkadakila (in purity and majesty)
Gaya ng pag-ibig sa tinubuang lupa (like the love to the birthland)
Aling pag-ibig pa? Wala na nga wala. (Which love? Nothing else, nothing)

Walang mahalagang hindi inihandog (Nothing worthy cannot be presented)
Ng may pusong wagas sa bayang nagkupkop. (with an everlasting love for the country that cared)
Dugo, yaman, dunong, katiisa’t pagod: (Blood, wealth, reason, sacrifice and fatigue)
Buhay ma’y abuting magkalagot-lagot (Even life may become too difficult)

Ang nakaraang panahon ng aliw (The past season of fun)
Ang inaasahang araw na darating (the hope that tomorrow brings)
Ng pagkatimawa ng mga alipin (the poorness of the slaves)
Liban pa sa bayan saan tatanghalin? (Other than this country, where else could they be honored?)
Sa aba ng abang mawalay sa bayan (The fear, the fear of losing the country)
Gunita ma’y laging sakbibi ng lumbay (Even if its memory is coupled with sadness)

Walang alaalang inaasam-asam (No other memory is ever hoped for)
Kundi ang makita lupang tinubuan. (than to see the land where we grow up with)

Kayong nalagasan ng bunga’t bulaklak (You who lost fruits and flowers)
Kahoy niyaring buhay na nilanta’t sukat (Wood stripped off of life and withered)
Ng bala-balaki’t makapal na hirap (with different fors of hardships)
Muling manariwa’t sa baya’y lumiyag (live once again and stand for the country)

Ipakahandog-handog ang buong pag-ibig (Offer your whole love)
Hanggang sa may dugo’y ubusing itigis (Until blood runs dry)
Kung sa pagtatanggol buhay ang kapalit (If in defending, life is the price)
Ito’y kapalaran at tunay na langit (This is fate and true heaven)

Aling pag-ibig pa ang hihigit kaya
Sa pagkadalisay at pagkadakila
Gaya ng pag-ibig sa tinubuang lupa
Aling pag-ibig pa wala na nga wala
Gaya ng pag-ibig sa tinubuang lupa
Aling pag-ibig pa? Wala na nga wala

*I translated "tinubuan lupa" with "birthland" although tinubuan means growth or growing while lupa means land. It's a tough job translating this one.

Pagibig sa Tinubuang Lupa -

Somewhere, Somehow - Wet Wet Wet

author: music247

We live a separate world now
We have grown older and wow!
I can always feel your hand on my face
Those memories I can't erase!

There are a lot of words I want to say
I can only make it this way
Through the songs that I sing and play
The only place where our love will stay...

I love you in each passing minute
I know I can only let you feel it
I have loved you forever
It may even be more than ever.

****
I just can't say much but you know I made this for you.
I heard this song I know this is meant for you.
****

If you're there and you care, and you listen very careful darling
You'll hear my prayer
And if you hear, loud and clear
You would get a million kisses from me
Somewhere, somehow

And if the night's a lonely time for you,
Just listen to the words I gave to you,
Let the song of ours play one more time
Somewhere, somehow, I'll be there

Went out walkin' in the morning
Standing in the pouring rain
Let it run all over me
Stayed up late last night
Tryin' to put all the things right
Then your tears roll over me

And if the night's a lonely time for you,
Just listen to the words I gave to you,
Let the song of ours play one more time
Somewhere, somehow, I'll be there

If you're there, and you care,
You'll get a million kisses from me
Somewhere, somehow
And if you feel like I feel
Love cuts the deepest part of me
Somewhere, somehow
And if the night's a lonely time for you,
Just listen to the words I gave to you,
Let the song of ours play one more time
Somewhere, somehow, I'll be there
