My mom's watching HBO and the beginning of the movie played this song. What did it remind me? It is an all-girl band formed back in UP Baguio. I am proud to say, some of its members were good sisters of mine... meaning my fellows in a school organization. Guitarist was Ces and drummer was Eva. We all entered the University in 1993... Gosh, I miss that batch!
They practically introduced me to this music because they played it in one of their gigs in the campus. I never really knew the title nor the lyrics of the song but when they played it, I was drawn to it because of the upbeat. Then I found out this is actually a song from the 80s, we call them "new wave".
Ahh, I just love new wave. Notice some of the songs from the 80s are being revived by younger artists nowadays? Because those songs are good.
