First of all thanks to azlyrics.com for the lyrics below. This is the first time I read the lyrics in its entirety. I just read some fragments of the lyrics in the videoke.

I was with my co-workers last night. Just the ordinary bonding moments. Or so I thought.

I am such a magnet to friends with love problems. She is going through some relationship problems and I can't bear to see her tears falling. As much as I could, I just brushed the sadness building up inside me just the sight of her crying. I just smiled and told her, "You don't have to cry." And something tells me, she still loves the person but she just can't breath a second longer with her partner.

I can't believe I found time to blog these days!

I miss visiting my friends at entrecard, I missed updating my profile, I missed earning online. I am still at a lost with Google Adsense when I said I am going to master Adsense.

I have forgotten how things were before I plunged into a legal pit I have gone through. No, I wasn't the subject of any prosecution or legal battles in court. I was trying to be a lawyer for the past 4 years and more of my life. The bar exam had just been concluded and I am still at a plethora on how the heck was I able to at least survive it! Well, surviving the bar exam was my goal, not so much on passing it. Oh well, I am sounding so pessimistic already.

Yet another pessimism in me shouts! I am still an amateur here in the blog world despite my blogging for more than three years already.

It's been a while since I had my entry here. November was such a busy month afterall, on top of yes another busy days of December when everybody is preparing their Christmas lists.

This is a song I haven't heard for quite a long while as well. I was watching a Winnie the Pooh episode with my baby when suddenly, I heard a very familiar name - Christopher Robin.

Christopher Robin is a traveller and just recently, I have travelled for more than 10,000 miles or so. It was a travel I really can't avoid while most of those trips were for leisure and fun! (This explains my absence from the websphere.)

I so miss blogging; I miss my house as well; I miss my baby too! And now I'm back, with a few more travels on the list (wink!) But it would sure be nice to go back to my house... with Pooh? Yes, with Pooh, my baby and hunny!

It's a stormy Sunday afternoon. The people are doing different types of activities indoors: kids playing computer games, my dad watching TV, my mom playing cards with friendly neighbors and I am clicking a few on line adverts to kill time. That was his way to spend money, clicking is my way to earn. So do the math. The person who pays to play a game earns virtual gifts, virtual products, virtual success. The person who pays online hours while clicking on the side earns a few cents but taken together as a whole becomes substantial. I play, once in a while but in general, I consider playing games a waste of time!

Oh well, that's how people spend their most precious money, that's how they spend their leisure, that's just the way I see it when it comes to ways I could earn, while letting time pass.

I am thankful for fellow bloggers who give opportunity for others to write, update their blog site and given a chance to earn a few bucks. I consider myself a newbie in this arena because I haven't had my focus on technicalities yet. I still have a long way to learn. For now, I am contented to write then earn. ;-)

I attended the mass sponsored by one of the government agencies here. This song was lined up by the choir which they sung during the communion. I had goose bumps as soon as I figured out that I am so familiar with the song which I haven't heard for such a long time!

When I was in college, i knew I was a "junk" because I didn't know where to go. I tried everything one could ever imagine only to end up debunking my religion, including the negation of God's existence. I did all things which I thought I could manifest human strength and superiority... and naturally, my spirit died.

When one's spirit dies, no action would seem to become right; no decision would turn out to be great; no word would turn to be helpful. Nothing. One wakes up not knowing where to go, what to do or whom to go with. It was a very boring, deafening, killing and solitary life although you are surrounded by people you think your friends.

Friends may be physically there with you but because your outlook have gone awry, no one can understand you; no one to talk to; no one to hang on to- not even your family.

I was in deep slumber. I shied away. I was only with few people whose interest I could hardly get into my system. That was me before.

I have flown above the clouds and it was amazing. Of course I meant that I boarded the plane and looked at the awesome creature of God which I couldn't have experienced if I denied the revival of my spirit. I fly a lot lately that is because God has given me back my strength and continuously equip me to put my head high while my heart is still under His control.

Today is the anticipated arrival day of yet another typhoon visiting the Philippines. The news says this is going to be a super-typhoon having a wind of at least 150kph.

As one of our task to be of aid to the community, we were assigned to render an overtime work to monitor the movement of the storm and most especially to monitor the general situation of the local governments. We are in a coastal area so that is one of the gravest considerations. We are not so worried about lands slides since the mountains in our locality still have lots of trees. But we are hoping to survive this typhoon.

Since the typhoon "Ondoy" wrecked havoc in my beloved province in 2009, I am here in the office right now, with the only intent to be able to help the people in any little way I can. Sending information as to the location of the gravely affected communities is for me, constitutes a big help to the people.

Now is the start of our monitoring so I have to focus on the work now. I am leaving you with the lyrics of the song Bangon (Rise Up) written and sung by Rico Blanco dedicated to the victims of typhoon "Peping".

I miss Michael Jackson. I have always admired him and loved his songs you know. Before he passed away, he was still able to create another song and this is one of the. I love listening to this song because it reminds me so much of him.

I bought a DVD of his concert and let the kids watch him dance, sing and perform all the stunts at the concert stage. They adore him!

This was the song that played following his death. I am so happy to hear this played in the airwaves because I miss his voice. I heard this song when I was driving back home and increased the volume of the stereo. Ever experienced that feeling of suddenly hearing the sound of a familiar voice? That was how I felt.

This is exactly how I felt when I saw a very familiar face in a social website while browsing at friend's page. I said goodbye to this person at the height of my personal crisis. During those times, I saw that being in a relationship has more complexities than solutions to what I have been going through. To cut the long story short, I wrote a message to this person. I felt ignored. I let it pass. Days passed and I decided to add the person as my friend. I went overboard, my profile was blocked. It was a deadlock for me.

My heart was crushed!

Days and nights passed and still this person filled my mind, including my dreams.

Then I decided, this is it! This has got to be it. I will message her again and express my apologies for hurting her.

I haven't thought that messaging her again was difficult, but I felt relieved. For the first time in my life, I told her sorry and asked for her forgiveness. Although forgiveness is still far from reality, I felt a new energy passing through my veins. It felt liberating! As if I saw someone smiling genuinely at me. Never mind the embarrassment, never mind the anger I may receive from the other end, never mind my dreams about her, because somehow I was freed.

Now I am just waiting to be forgiven.

My liberty started to materialize when I said to myself that I will message her again: This is it! This is it because she may either forgive me or assure to me that I no longer exist!

This is the first time that I am writing about a beauty pageant. This is the first time that I commented on such contest because it's been a while since I watched or monitored it. It just so happened that I adore Shamcey so much, a fellow UPian! (UP - University of the Philippines) It is only today that I've proven that when God loves you, He will give everything to you like Beauty and Brains ;-)

Miss Universe of 2011 has been crowned to Leila Lopes of Angola! What a beauty indeed! God created this beauty for us to appreciate and of course, give back the honor to the One who created it.

I didn't get the chance to watch these beautiful ladies modeled because our working station does not have a television set. I just relied on the updated text message from my beloved. I was the first in our office to know who the winner was. Thanks to SMS!

We are for Ms. Shamcey Supsup of course. She topped the polls prior to the pageant. The question to her was:
which I answered, not knowing what her answer was. "Would you change your religious beliefs to marry the person you love? Why or why not"

I answered No. Being trained in the legal way of answering questions, I qualified my answer: Religion is a way of life. Marriage is also a way of life but not as deep as religion. I chose my religion because I have lived all my life with the belief in my God and I will not be happy with a person or an act that is being forced on me and it will not be abruptly changed by someone I barely know. Marriage is a lifetime commitment but my religion will go with me beyond my grave. (I forgot to say "Thank you" since we don't use this in the bar exam. haha!)

To which Shamcey answered: ” If I had to change my religious beliefs, I will not marry the person that I love. Because the first person that I love is GOD who created me. And I have my faith and my principles. And these what makes me who I am. And if that person loves me, he should love my God too, Thank you.”

Like the usual, our countrymen are contented with what Shamcey received during the pageant. For me, it could have been another crown to the Philippines. My aunt is mad at me for acting so negatively. She seems to imply that I don't know how to appreciate the efforts of our beauty queen. Don't get me wrong please but I truly appreciate what we have garnered in the Miss Universe. It could have been the crown itself and our sour-graping with what we received in the pageant will only proliferate our attitude of getting contented with what we have. I am afraid this will just give us the attitude of saying "At least, better than the rest of the 80 contestants" then we will not do anything anymore in the future to prepare even more. This is typical Filipino attitude.

I am happy for what we have achieved in the pageant but I could have been happier ;-)

I would suggest that next time, we give an answer that has an audience impact; make longer answers and most importantly, hire an interpreter because tagalog construction is different from English. That is a fact. Shamcey is intelligent, very intelligent, I know that. But intelligence is not equivalent to superior verbal communications especially in a foreign language.

I propose that the Miss Universe Committee (if there is such a thing) should look into the possibility of hiring or training an interpreter for our beauty queens.

Nevertheless, in my heart, I am overwhelmed to know that a lot of people were entertained by the most beautiful women in the world today... and that is all because God created us beautifully... in every single way.

Today marks the 10th anniversary, and death anniversary, of the victims of 9/11 attacks in America. I remember waking up with the news that America was under attack. It was really tragic and the whole world was shocked to the event that led to the conclusion that a religious was is getting even deeper. That even also led to loss of many more lives, the torment of many peaceful hearts and the anger of many nations.

Today, as I watch the people from all over the world commemorate their loved ones, the victims as well as the survivors, I was reminded of this beautiful song. I thought of our society, the whole world, the main reason why we exist, is to enjoy life and savor our freedom.

Freedom is not just from physical bounds but most importantly expressed in our freedom from hatred, freedom from fear, freedom from anger and all the bad elements in the world.

We should be living as a free country, a free individual, a free society but not to the point of hurting others, stepping into the liberty of fellowmen, killing precious lives for the proliferation of humanity.

Hatred should be eradicated and replace it with love for isn't it nice to be able to smile at our neighbors early in the morning? Isn't it nice to be appreciated by your boss in the workplace? Isn't it nice to be recognize as a valuable member of the community for our beneficial contributions? A lot of questions pop up but this is just my simple call of saying: "Our freedom ends to where the freedom of others begin."

I heard that from someone and what I mean is that when I think that I am free to do something, I should also think that another person is likewise free to do somethings. We should be able to balance these. We should be able to recognize that all people are equally situated and among equals, there should be respect.

Oh well, I'm sounding like a priest giving a Sunday sermon. Live free everyone!

Yes I'm alone right now. It's been quite a while since I have been alone in the house. The last time was in December last year when the rest of my companion went to a vacation. I hope I will just be alone for a day, and one night only.

I am savoring this day. I did a lot: washed my clothes, cleaned my room, cooked my meals, read, slept, biked around neighborhood not to mention feed the cats and the chickens. What a day really and it is still a long day for me.

These are the joys of being single which I can't seem to let go of. Waking up in the morning with no one disturbing your sleep. Getting up in the morning to do your routine like hearing mass, go shopping and grocery when there is only you to decide. Alone is lonesome already but if we try to do something about it, then it wouldn't really be too lonely.

I just hope this will be for so long. I hope my housemate will arrive tomorrow. If not, well, it's gonna be another lonesome day for me and I will sure try to make it another busy day.

Got to go for now. Time to eat my instant noodles! Oops, just a last note ok? I seldom eat instant foods but I just feel like too lazy to cook good food right now. Once in a while, instant food is tolerable.

Different times entail different concerns, different problems and obstacles. There is one just one problem among youth common to yesteryears and today: drug addiction.

I have been blogging about drug addiction and its sad effects to the person himself, to the family, society and to the country. As an advocate against illegal drugs, I attended the first Anti-illegal drug summit in our community. It started with a motorcade that commenced from the far-flung places up to the town plaza. There were a lot of participants and not much worry about crowd control because the same activity was participated in by law enforcers. A velvet rope was of course prepared to the guest of honor and speaker who was a doctor and talked about his experiences with a person undergoing rehabilitation.

The summit proceeded in the convention hall of one of the hotels here in the province. Barricades were readied at the parking lot where court confiscated illegal drugs were to be burned or destructed. It destruction / burning was headed by prominent politicians and social transformers of the society. The said activity was covered by the local media.

At the end of the day, I was half happy because that social gesture of destroying illegal drugs means a step has been taken by out political leaders. I was half happy because I was also reminded of how destructive these illegal drugs were especially that I know of someone, close to my heart, who was a victim of the acts of a drug addict. There are also news about heinous crimes committed by drug addicts.

I am leaving with you today a song Through the Barricades because regardless of the proliferation of illegal drugs in our society, we are here today to combat this menace in our society. The victims of illegal drugs are taking a stand, a firm stand to step on these dreaded elements of criminalism.

This is probably a love story, or a no-love story for the lack of it. I want to talk about Juliet, a girl friend of mine back in college. This song, because it bears the name Juliet (with Romeo) kept playing in my head. Why? It reminds me so much of Juliet.

One thing about her is, she is deep. I have lived majority of my life practically along the sea shore but it was only her who told me the calming effect of just looking at the sea, and feeling its breeze touching your skin. Indeed, I haven't noticed that. All I know, when I am at the sea, it's time to learn how to swim.

She said the sea calms you mind… and perhaps even the heart.

Aside from being a deep-thinker, Juliet is broad minded. How broad? At her teen age, she has already felt the urge of helping this country. When I was her age or even younger, all I thought of was my survival - for our family to survive. But her thoughts have gone farther than her family, her community to the ends of how this country could liberate itself from its known enemies.

I have always been a law-abiding person. When it comes to family curfew, I am to the dot. When it comes to family chores, I accomplish them. I do what I was told. Juliet on the other hand, taught me that there is nothing wrong at questioning those authorities giving such command, including your parents. She didn't teach me to disobey the rules, she just reminded me that it is sometimes healthy to know the reason why some rules have to be questioned and know its purpose.

She seemed to have a very precise mission in life; i didn't. In fact, I could hardly fathom her dreams. For me, they were just too deep for me to ponder on or maybe, as I have always told myself, I am too young for such a stuff. I did try to emulate her; I took her steps, I followed her advise, I learned a lot from her, I admired her so much but for the span of two years that I have known her, I was overwhelmed. My mind boggled for it wasn't prepared to address the issues of liberty, of democracy, of equality and of all that she has taught me and for everything that we did together. I went away and tried to find my own freedom until such time that I would learn how to secure freedom for somebody else. My mind has grown deeper and broader as hers probably have gone deepest and broadest (pardon my word play).

She was deep and I was just starting to learn how to swim. Over a decade thereafter, I am now in that deep water she was in before. I now know how to swim and is so much ready to dive deeper into the sea we call life - she called it life in the third world. Perhaps, 20 more years thereafter, Juliet will still be the same Juliet that I have known. And the Philippines that I have known long before I met her, when I was with her and now far away from her, is still the Philippines as it is.

TELL THE WORLD OF HIS LOVE

I watched in the news today that the World Youth Week celebration is being held in Spain. A local counterpart is being held at the Ateneo de Manila University participated in by youth from all over the country.

I remember when the Blessed Pope John Paul IV visited the Philippines in 1995. I remember it not because I was a participant. I remembered it because it feels special to be visited by the Pope carried by a custom-made vehicle exclusive for Papal use as I watched it on TV.

One of the memories that World Youth Day remind me is my girl friend back in college. Yes, she was lucky enough, as a senior high school student back then, to be chosen as a participant in that historical event, which to me, turned out to become a very significant event because of her.

She talked about her experiences during the celebration. She, and her mates were lucky enough to be housed by good people who provided shelter for them while they are in the City. She was from the Bicol Region and so the need to be housed by family that they are not familiar with while attending the celebration. I think it was a pre-arranged accommodation.

I never thought that kind of arrangement was possible especially in Manila. That knowledge just proved that I wasn't really familiar with how people in Manila deal with such an occasion. I didn't even know that there are parents who allow their children, 12 hours bus-ride from Bicol to Manila, to join such a crowded celebration. I have never experienced that. I was always taught to stay away from crowd, from the City, not to be too far away from family. But her experience was different and I found it extra ordinary thus the need for me to be blogging about it. haha!

This is a song that has become popular again to me since I shuffled the contents of my mp3 player. On really rare occasions, last night a friend of mine called me and just wanted to be heard of her heart problems. I could not do anything but listen.

She spoke about how hurt she was over a hundred of times, as if I didn't get her message the first time. I really didn't know what to say to stop her sobs and so deep within me, I asked, "why chose that guy? What has she ever seen in that guy anyway? Why fall in love with someone like that in the first place?"

We all fall in love isn't it? One favorite passage of mine I kept since high school was "It is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all." We all must fall in love somehow.

Reading once again the lyrics of the featured song, it hit me that we are victims of love depending on how we look at it. There is brokenness, like what my friend is experiencing right now. Sometimes, here is hard feelings not because of a broken relationship but because of a long distance relationship. That is terrible and so hearts love yet have to be prepared for such a battle, anticipating brokenness, planning how to cope seeing the debris, the memories of what used to be a mark of happiness in our days.

Allow God To Love You As You Are

Here’s the truth: Deep within you, you already are beautiful. Because you’re made in God’s image (Genesis 1:27). You already are holy. All you need to do is to bring out God’s beauty and holiness within you. Manifest it.

Today, I’d like to share with you the powerful story of how Jesus turned water into wine.

In this incredible story, you’ll find 4 powerful truths that will change your life forever.

A Very Unique Miracle

One day, Jesus attended a wedding party.

Out of the 37 miracles that Jesus performed, this miracle was very unique.

Two days later there was a wedding in the town of Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there,and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. When the wine had given out, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They are out of wine.” (John 2:1-2)

Wedding receptions today normally last for 2 hours; Some may stretch to 4. But 4 hours is nothing compared to ancient middle-eastern weddings. A wedding reception during the time of Jesus lasted for 7 days.

For 7 straight days, guests live in your house and camp out in your backyard. No wonder they ran out of wine.

But Jesus transformed water into wine.

In the same way, God wants to turn your ordinary into extraordinary. God wants to turn your mess into a miracle.

How?

Do these four things:

1. Allow God To Meet You Where You Are

Why was this a very unique miracle?

Almost all the miracles of Jesus were about meeting a very real physical need: Jesus healed the blind, lame, deaf, paralyzed… And two times, Jesus multiplied bread because people were hungry.

But to provide wine for a wedding party?

This was a social need. More specifically, it was an emotional need. If the wedding party ran out of wine, the host family would lose face. It would be a big embarrassment.

C’mon. Doesn’t God have more important things to do?

It could have been easy for Jesus to tell the hosts, “You ran out of wine. Tough luck. Swallow your pride. Serve ice tea.”

He didn’t do that. Jesus met them where they were.

Friend, God meets you where you are now.

What is God saying? He’s telling you, “If it’s important to you, then it’s important to me.”

Perhaps you have a broken heart. Perhaps you’re worried about your kids. Perhaps you’re growing old and you’re worried that you’re not married yet. Perhaps you’re afraid about your increasing debts. Perhaps you’re sad because of some rejections you had lately.

God meets you where you are right now, in your pain, in your worries, in your desperation.

God doesn’t shrug off your problems and say, “Don’t bother me with your feelings. I have more important things to do.”

That’s not God. God is a God who says, “If it’s important to you, it’s important to me.”

2. Allow God To Satisfy Your Deepest Needs

One day, someone asked me, “Bo, so many come to you seeking for help, asking for prayers, pouring their problems to you. Don’t you ever get burdened?”

I get burdened, yes, but not for too long. Here’s my secret: I know that on my own, I can’t satisfy their needs. So I point them to Jesus.

Mary teaches us the same principle. Mary knew she couldn’t turn water into wine. She had to ask Jesus to do that. Why? Mary was an intercessor. (And she still is.)

At the end of the day, we’re all intercessors. Because we can’t meet the deepest needs of the people we love. So we point them to Jesus. Always.

Why? We can give water. Only God can give wine.

At the end of the day, your love will never satisfy the deepest longings of your husband, or your wife, or your kids, or your friends. You need to point them to God’s Love. Only God’s Love is perfect.

Here’s an important lesson in human relationships: Don’t expect from human beings what only God can provide. The reason why we’re so frustrated with people is because we want from them what only God can give to us.

Let me give you a crazy analogy.

You’re Holding The Wrong Pole

While riding the bus, a woman saw a man, who was holding onto the same pole, staring at her. Finally, he said, “Excuse me. This is my stop.”

Since she wasn’t blocking the way, she was confused.

“Go ahead,” she said.

“This is my pole,” he said.

The mother was totally confused until the young man added, “I just bought it at the hardware store to hold up my shower curtain.”

This is our problem: We’re holding onto the pole of others instead of holding the pole of the bus. We’re depending on people instead of depending on Jesus. People are unstable. People will make mistakes. People will fail you. Expect that. If we depend on God for our deepest needs, it won’t bother us too much.

Married person, your spouse—no matter how fantastic—can never satisfy your deepest needs. Only God can do that.

Child, your parents—no matter how loving—can never satisfy your deepest needs. Only God can do that.

Friend, your best friends—no matter how wonderful—can never satisfy your deepest needs. Only God can do that.

Followers, your leaders—no matter how heroic—can never satisfy your deepest needs. Only God can do that.

Yes, I’m the leader of Light of Jesus Family. And I love my flock. But let me make this announcement loud and clear: I can only give you water. Only God can give you wine!

3. Allow God To Transform Something In You

Jesus could have gotten empty jars, snapped his finger, and viola—created heavenly wine.

He didn’t do that. Instead, he got jars filled with water.

Jesus said to the servants, “Fill these jars with water.” They filled them to the brim,and then he told them, “Now draw some water out and take it to the man in charge of the feast.” They took him the water, which now had turned into wine, and he tasted it. He called the bridegroom and said to him, “…you have kept the best wine until now!” (John 2:7-10)

Here’s why: You’ve got to offer something.

God can create something out of nothing, but that’s not how He likes to work. He takes something weak and makes it strong. He takes something damaged and makes it perfect. He takes something unholy and makes it holy.

Water is a symbol of your work, your love, your service, your effort, your sweat, your struggles, your tears… In other words, water is a symbol of your life.

And wine is a symbol of the Holy Spirit.

Only God can turn your water into wine, your imperfect work into God’s work, your inadequate love into God’s love, your damaged life into God’s life.

Only God can make you holy.

4. Allow God To Love You As You Are

Let me shock you. Holiness isn’t primarily about loving God. That’s only a response. Almost like a side effect.

People think holiness is about praying, attending church, or reading the Bible. All that is important. But holiness is not about doing something, but allowing something to happen to you.

Holiness isn’t about working for God. It’s about God working in you. Holiness isn’t about loving God. Holiness is about God loving you.

People think Saints are people who love God. Actually, they’re people who allow God to love them. And loving God just follows automatically.

Because you can’t give what you don’t have.

St. Francis is my favorite saint. And one of my favorite stories of St. Francis was when he was walking with his friend Brother Leo.

While walking through a field of flowers, all of a sudden, without any warning, Francis covered his ears and started running out, all the while screaming, “Stop talking to me!”

Alarmed, Brother Leo ran after him.

Finally, he saw Francis sitting by a rock, catching his breath. Leo asked him, “Master, who was talking to you? I didn’t hear anyone!”

Francis said, “The flowers. They were talking to me.”

Brother Leo’s jaw dropped. The flowers? Has his leader gone loco? He asked a foolish question, “Brother Francis, what did the flowers say?”

Francis said, “I heard the flowers say, Francis, Francis, we are in bloom because God knew you were going to pass by.”

Francis was a Saint because everywhere he looked, he saw God loving him.

I repeat: Saints are Saints because they know how to receive God’s Love. And they allow that love to overwhelm them, overpower them, and transform their lives forever.

I tried to become Francis. I remember doing crazy things as a teenager.

When the sun was hot, I’d walk under the sun and say, “Thank you Lord, I feel the warmth of your love right now.”

When it was raining, I’d get totally wet under the rain and say, “Thank you Lord that your Love is like the rain, falling from the sky!”

When I passed by garbage and it stunk, I didn’t avoid it. I actually smelt it and say, “Thank you Lord that despite the garbage in my life, you still love me and stay with me…”

I was nuts then.

Three decades later, I don’t do that anymore. When it rains, I open my umbrella.

But I still try to receive God’s Love in everything I see.

I see God’s Love when my sons and I play together.

I see God’s Love when I have my date with my lovely wife.

I see God’s Love when I listen to Mom’s World War II stories.

I see God’s Love when I laugh with my friends over pizza.

I see God’s Love everywhere.

Receive God’s Love more!

Let me end with one last message…

When Your Resources Run Out, Rejoice!

There were two wines used in this party: Man-made wine and God-made wine.

Thank God that the man-made wine ran out.

Because if not, the God-made wine wouldn’t have appeared.

In the same way, there’ll be days when your resources will run out. When your own strength will run out. When your own ideas will run out. When your human connections will run out. When your own money will run out.

If they run out, rejoice! When resources run out, God-made resources will appear.

Here’s my belief. Every so often, you need to push yourself beyond the border of what is possible. Every so often, you need to enter the realm of the impossible. Because if you stay in the easy level, you’ll never grow. And God will have no stage to perform His miracles.

You need to dream God-sized dreams that can only happen if you received God-sized blessings. If you dream man-sized dreams, then you don’t need God.

Today, let your limitations open up to His leadership. Let your mess open up to His miracles.

I repeat. There were two kinds of wine in the party. Man-made wine and God-made wine.

Friend, are you tired of man-made wine in your life?

Let God-made wine—the Holy Spirit—work in your life today.

Contemporary music is my passion because I greatly relate myself into it. Its genres like Pop, Rock (alternative, pop and metal) and RnB deeply make me feel an ideal world. I always imagine when it comes to dreams and love. Some say old-fashioned songs sound soft, clear and nice for the ear but contemporary music do not. I always argue those comments because there is in fact individual differences.

My favorite genre is Rock- pop rock to be exact. Aligning with the artists who belong to this group is my favorite rock star David Cook and he is the one who sung my favorite song, “Life on the Moon”. What made me embrace this song is everything- from its tone that you can’t understand wether it is morbid or mad and its lyrics to my personal interpretation of the song-which simply says it is my favorite.

The song pictures how sad to be alone just like ‘life on the moon’ that even you see crowd everyday, no one bothers for you. Whenever you feel something like melancholy, it must only be your burden and no one exactly tells you,” How can I help you?” Sometimes, you are either just afraid to ask help or mad at the person you wish to ask help from. All you need when you are living in a mundane society like this world comparable to hell is a brave heart. Because you cannot live with pity and I stress it on my own motto, “life is the grand big arena where pity is the greatest weakness.”

As we go on its lyrics, we may notice that someone had joined to live with the ‘life on the moon’ and the man has melted his brave heart for that woman. And what, makes him fight is no longer for himself since then, it is all for the woman and all the bravery and sacrifices.

The world may seem mad at you if you live in solitude but someone will be given to you and will endow you with happiness and victory.

My Wish by Rascal Flatts is one of my favorite songs.

This song has a very lovely message which touches my soul; you know sometimes when something really touches our soul. It feels like our pores open and like there is an electric current passing through our veins this is what I feel when I listen to this awesome song. The song shows how a person must wish for someone as I encode here this song is ringing in my ears. For me, a person who really loves someone wishes the best for his/her loved one.

“I hope that days come easy and the moments pass slow, and each road leads you where you want to go”
This is the opening line of the song you can take this song in many different point of views. It can be a song for a parent to his/her child, for a teacher to his/her student, for me I have a different perspective for this song let’s take that my perspective for this song is for a lover who is not loved by the person who he loves the most.

So here the lover wishes that the days of his lover comes easy and each roads leads her where she wants to go. The lover wants the best for his loved one. He wants her to be smiling all the time, to be happy all tfhe time like Senator Juan Ponce Enrile told in his last elections advertisement that “Gusto ko,Happy ka”. (LOL) Kidding aside, Actually everyone of has our own dreams and perspective of everything, maybe some of my classmates chose “Billionaire by Travie McCoy ft. Bruno Mars” as there song. Maybe the wanted to be in the front page of the Forbes magazine posing beside Oprah Winfrey and the Queen and all those Billionaires such as Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, Carlos Slim and all those Business Tycoons and all those celebrities having all fake smiles and showing their wealth.

The next line is “And if you’re faced with a choice, and you have to choose I hope you choose the one that means the most to you and if one door opens to another door closed .I hope you keep on walking’ till you find the window.”
This phrase shows that that the lover wishes that when the person he/she loves has the faced with a scenario when she has to choose between some options for a move to be taken in his/her life it must be the choice which means the most. I personally believe a person who loves someone truly always wants the best of his/her loved one even if it hurts too much at the side of the lover and a person must never complain and ask in love. Love is a form of a thanksgiving, no one can describe what love is because its only felt by emotions and emotions are indescribable. Can you tell me how much you love God or someone special to you?

There is a part in the song where it shows that when a certain door closes and there is another door which opens. This part is about the trials and obstacles we faces in our daily lives and I personally believe that God never gives a problem which does not has any solution and he gives problem to those who he loves the most and to whom he trusts the most.

It would be quite difficult for me to describe the song line by line so let’s sum it up. This song shows a wish of a lover. The lover wishes all the best to the person he/she loves and he says that in every mistake the person takes there is God’s grace behind it. I personally believe that God knows the best for us and never any bad thing happens to us. If we believe that a bad thing happens actually it’s for our best and we don’t realize it. And the song shows in a whole paragraph how an individual live. How he/she must give and forget this is the reason why this song is on my top list hope you would like it too.

Who would not get goosebumps when this song started playing in that old Coca-cola advertisement. It was sung by a local artist by the name of "Lilet". I clearly remember her name because her pretty face reminds me of my sister. Well, that's only me alright.

So there she was giving the introductory lyrics of this song, without any background music. She sings it in acapella while the camera is zooming in on her surroundings which was a stadium filled with young people. The the background music plays along.

I get goosebumps because ever since I was still young, I have always been idealistic; principled; dreamer. I have always believed that there is still hope in this country and that goodness will prevail. I believe we human beings are innately good.

I am sharing this with you because the last time I spent a bonding moment with my sister, we ate at McDonald's. I know she could't resist the sight of that new Coca-Cola glass on display at the store's counter. She has been collecting those glasses for years, this is the third year, I believe. She has those glasses. I just knew she couldn't resist the new Coke glass' design and true enough, she bought one! Presto!

Now folk, don't fret because this glass is available to you at your nearest McDonald's store so hurry! Grab one.

First Day Funk - Parokya ni Edgar

Alright, this song is about a student's first day in school. June is the month for school here in the country.

This song came out on TV screens as the theme song of a TV ad for deodorant and I found it so cool because this body odor is truly an experience of all especially teeners who still go to school. (Talking from experience ok?).

For this entry, let me talk about deodorants (or anti-perspirant, as you wish).

Once upon a time, deodorants are still to be invented, there was an earth element called Aluminum Hydroxide (some say potassium alum or tawas). When I was still a kid, they sell this in solid form, like the shape of a rock. Older people admonished us, the kids of that time, to use tawas for elimination of under arm smell. We did.

Then the time came when we can already afford to buy a commercial deodorant. What ease it brought us. Imagine just holding a stick under your arm then stroke or spray towards it. Much user-friendly than a tawas; more elegant to use.

I don't recall how long was it since I last saw a tawas being sold in the market. All I know, I stopped looking for it because of the wider availability of commercially offered deodorants in the supermarkets. Fast forward to the future... in one of the department stores in our locality, there was a powdered tawas on display in their shelves. Instantly, I grabbed the merchandise because they are selling it in powder form and you has the choice of either the scented or unscented one.

You just have to apply a tiny amount of the powder in your underarms and you will not get an instant result, of course. There were days when despite the use of generous amount of the powder, I could still smell that odor under my arms. I thought I will be frustrated with my sudden change of brand. Well, after a few months of using it, I noticed the lack of that smell in my arms. There was a day when I forgot to apply the powder and there was no "disaster". So intentionally not apply the powder the following day and the same consequence. Three weeks there after, I still get the same result.

Now, I feel freedom! Freedom from smell, freedom from inconvenience, freedom from expenses (on deodorant or tawas use). I hope this phenomenon in my body will keep going. Should the odor come back, I still have supply in my cabinet, no worries.

Leaving on a Jet Plane - John Denver

I am aware that there have been many versions of this song and the latest was that version used in the movie Armageddon. I watched that movie and I should admit, I cried at its ending.

I grew up hearing this song as sung by John Denver. I may be younger than his generation but I love his songs. As a kid, I couldn't see myself as "leaving on a jet plane" simply because I am afraid of heights.

I fear heights especially boarding a plane due to movies showing planes that crash and other natural calamities that strike air crafts. I was afraid of the thought that I may not survive a plane crash or I may be a crash magnet. (Silly me!) Well, maturity brought me opposite convictions in life. In fact, I have prepared myself of death. Funny!

Hey, one can't help but repose your life to the aircraft and to the pilot who directs the plane during voyage to the skies. It is like religion. "You commend your spirit into your God."

Those were my thoughts when I boarded the plane. "I am prepared", I told myself. However, seated beside me is my sister. I know her thoughts are different from mine leaving behind her 3 kids. As a mother, one can't help but miss your children and think of them when you're gone. Silly me really for thinking thoughts like these when we were en route the Land of the Merlion. However, as sister passengers in a plane, we did not talk about the worst scenario. We enjoyed the view above the clouds. We read the magazine and see photos of tourist spots in Asia and the Philippines. We talked about the activities of our fellow passenger regardless of their sex or color or race. We slept. I read my law book. As a passenger of the plane, I diverted my attention to those activities and did not bother to think of the worst scenario.

Well, to end this entry, I finally took the step to board an airplane and one thing that played on my mind was this song. It helped me eliminate my childhood fears on flying in the plane. Thank God!

I have always wanted to write about this song since the first day I've seen its music video. The scene was spectacular when a firework was coming out of her heart. It is like saying that life's happiness can be found within. These feelings do not have to be grand, famous or magnanimous. What matters is there is happiness at what ever amount or size or status there is.

I have all of a sudden wrote about fireworks because I would like to talk about CMFads. The advertising site I had in this blog for over a year now. I was not familiar with how it works until I gave it a closer look. There is a new feature, which is the Firework, that I am considering to avail of in a few days.

Working with CMF is fun, especially for a blogger who is not really "techy" when it comes to blogger matters such as the intricacies involved in a "widget", a "disclaimer page", a "URL" much more with "SEO", "Affiliates" and the like. These are alien words to me... until now. I just pretend to know them, the simplest way I could make my brain cells understand them.

I was taking a good look at my CMF page when I realized that I have gained a few $$$ in my account. The thought of earning makes me like CMF even more. Now, other than earning, which for me means passive income, (not that much but enough to make my few minutes of blogging "worthy"), here are the few things why I like CMFads:

1. It is user-friendly.
You see, not all bloggers are expert bloggers. Like me, I am here willing to learn the complexities of the world wide web. Logging on the system of CMFads is very simple and what I find very user-friendly is when I added a gadget here at blogspot. All I did was click on "get codes" then pasted it on my blogspot, then presto! I instantly had my CMF ads on my blog.

2. Clicking is fun.
I have played a few computer games and I cannot fathom how much clicks I have done in the entire duration of the few occasions that I was playing computer games. At CMFads, clicking is just like a game for me with a tinge of fun in it because you get to visit a lot of websites within its network. I find it really amazing and you will not imagine my grin while I am clicking and earning.

3. Traffic and Exposure.
We all know that traffic is important in order for a website or a blog to be noticed in the www. I tried the "buy spike" feature of CMFads and undoubtedly, it has brought significant amount of traffic into my site. There is still a long way for me to gain much exposure on my blog and this is definitely the reason why I would stick with CMFads.

Mahiwaga - Fatima Soriano

There is a TV soap opera in Philippine television launched sometime May. I watched the pilot episode and the title is 100 days to Heaven (this link will direct you to the trailer of the show via Youtube.) What made this so significant to me is that this is the only soap opera i watched. It is not yet finished but as long as I could steal a time from reading my books, I would sneak in and glue my eyes on the tube.

It has a good story, I could say. However, I cannot comment too much about it since I only had few occasions to watch it. I will not claim to be an expert about the show but I know it is giving viewers a lesson to live with.

I searched the net for a translation of the movie theme but there was none so I decided to blog about it and share my translation of the lyrics of the song Mahiwaga as sung by Fatima Soriano.       Music tells exactly what I feel whenever I’m hurt, sad, lonely, in love, happy and especially whenever I encounter heartbreaks. It’s the best way to release my emotions to the point that I could hardly explain my feelings to anyone at least I can sing it. For me, music is my life. Without it I’m like a dead clock that can’t move without its battery. I also define music as my problem absorber ‘coz eventually it turns back the smile on my face.
        “When I’m with you” is my all time favorite song since high school, for me this song never gets old. I enjoy it more when I used to sing and played it with my guitar. It became more my favorite when I watched the music video which interprets a sad love story of a couple who meets a car accident which caused death to his girlfriend while her boyfriend is fighting for life. The song really touches my heart and leaves an important lesson to treasure, because every moment that you share your life with your love ones or special one make sure that you don’t hesitate to say or express how much you love him/her because if God took him/her away from you at least there’s no reason to regret.
      The most remarkable thought of the lyrics for me is this “whatever it takes  I’m not going to break the promise I made” because for me it really shows that promises are not meant to break, so if I could just use my tears to build a stairway, and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring his girlfriend again.

Alright, this is a nice song. When it comes to melody, it will surely captivate your ears. However the song talks about a lost love... one that just disappears for no reason.

Then I was reminded of a story of my friend who said his love disappeared for the reason that he felt neglected.

In a relationship, sometimes it is nice to feel that one is needed. It may be too tasking, that is why I said "sometimes" one has to feel that they are needed, especially for the guy who feels that he has to serve his partner as much as he can, as much as he is needed. You know how guys tend to be protective all the time. It's not as if being protected means admitting that a woman is weak. It's probably just nature.

Everyday, most of the decisions are coming from the girl and out of courtesy, the guy gives way. But it didn't do well between them, at least for the guy. He just though everything would turn out all right but it didn't. Their daily arguments, struggles and decisions in life originated from the girl. Bravo to the girl for being able to handle relationship. But relationship is a two-way process.

The girl was too strong, the girl was so sure of what she was doing and the guy, who is so overwhelmed at what the girl could do, didn't feel his existence anymore, much less his importance to her life.

Out of the blue, the guy just said "I am exhausted" - exhausted for trying to capture the girl's attention and be noticed in at least voicing out his feelings. He was duped into believing that the girl can do it so what is his use? It even didn't occur to the guy that the women will be hurt. No inkling at all.

He said goodbye. Goodbye is a hurting phenomenon and he didn't even realize that the woman will surely be hurt. He didn't see it coming, he did not have an idea that a strong woman could actually feel hurt.

It must have been love, they could have been a perfect couple... but it's over now. Worst, they just parted ways like the never shared love each other.

It is always sad when lovers become enemies. I myself, cannot understand it. Why?

I miss that TV series Ally McBeal. My long lost friend was just talking about it the other night and she told me how she lost her collection of Ally McBeal soundtrack during the great flood that affected Metro Manila in 2009. I know how it feels to lose your most valued and treasured possessions.

Well my friend told me that she was about to get married but decided against it in the nick of time. This song depicts that story when a woman tells the guy that he is everything she needs only to forget about this conviction later on. I do not wonder why such things or phenomenon happen because such instances happen to guys most of the time. He would promise you the moon and the stars but when a finger snaps, that promise disappears.

Even the people destined to be somebody will, one point in their life, realizes that he or she cannot do it. He or she will falter from commitment. We have fears! I like this song because whenever I hear this song, I remember the day when I met my FIRST GIRLFRIEND.. and it makes me whole when this music plays and I'm with my GIRLFRIEND.

This is the song that I think best illustrates my life. Every line of the song was like a sketch drawn and patterned by God according to my life story (well, I’m not only the one here who admits to have the same story as this song). As a sixteen-year old individual, my life too was full of unwanted events and happenings like the one narrated in the song. Similar to the character in the song, I never expected to overcome all this mishaps and sorrows of my life, and like him, I also kept on wondering and asking myself how do I manage to control situations at the end of my day.

Living a life with little money, well-budgeted by my good parents wasn't that easy for an average teenage boy like me. Surely, I know that greater than my grief are that of my parents and siblings. For my share, I see to it in performing my part at the household chores and getting high grades, or if not, getting a passing grade. But, like I said, I am also an average teenage boy; I too experienced to be happy, excited, nervous, ashamed, sad and burdened. Along with those emotions I’ve listed, going to where I am now was a very rocky way where I have hurt some persons along the way by doing them wrong or simply just ignore their presence in my life, which I believe is one of the many sins I have committed.

If this paper be a list of my sins, then I think I should have some more extra sheets. I will no longer enumerate all my sins, not because I am afraid to be judged by others, but because I am not boastful in broadcasting the world that I have hurt GOD a million times through my actions. These instances when remembered also kept me from thanking GOD always and asking him to stray me from committing a sin. This made me become a better man and a better son not only to my parents but also to GOD.

Crowd Control - Phish Band

Here is a song from Phish. It talks about crowd control which is the title of the song. I remember a scenario where people are gathered during a political rally. Those were the days when Filipino people grew tired of the Arroyo administration so there were political rallies left and right, especially in the National Capital Region commonly referred to as Manila.

If you are a television viewer from outside Manila, particularly here in the province and especially abroad (there are Filipinos around the world) and looking at the velvet rope together with the noisy crowd and chaotic flow of the traffic, for sure one will get worried. I remember a friend of mine, while watching a news about political rallies and barricades, called me and sounded so worried asking about our situation. I just calmly said we are okay (since we are in the province) and there I realized that the media, especially those engaged in the public affairs, send so powerful message across the world that something is wrong here in the country.

I do not blame them. It is part of their job to inform other people about the chaos in our country but please bear in mind that political rallies are part of people's freedom of expression. When the presidential palace places barricades around its territory, it is just protecting itself from trouble. These political events in our country is not really new to me because I was exposed to such activism during my college days. As students of State University, one cannot help but try to defend the country in whatever capacity you can.

Another song translation for all of you. This is the 5th song from my favorite OPM band, the real, genuine, original OPM band I truly admire up until this day.

I was still a little kid when an uncle of mine introduced Asin songs. (Asin by the say means salt)

The story of the song is related to a blob, a dot, a period, just a peck of something, a nebula (remember the big bang theory.) In fact, the song mentioned about the sun, which is known as the center of the universe yet if we only take time to realize it, the sun, as big and as powerful as it is, is just a dot.

We, the human race, regardless of our economic, social or political status, have an equalizer and that, according to this song is our existence compared to a "dot"!

I have this co-worker who always brag about being a graduate of a private school well-known in our country. Probably the oldest catholic school in this country. I wonder why she has to do that not counting in mind that somebody else in the workplace came from the same university and probably finished a better course than hers.

I have a favorite phrase I picked up from my Philosophy teacher back in college: "All form, no substance!" Although I am not referring to her (my co-workers' treatment towards fellow workers who are undergraduate, not as rich as her or as beautiful as her or bright as her) but that is what I want to call her actuations and attitude.

Thanks for this song, I played while she is beside me... it's as if I had the time of my life right this moment. haha!
