Iduyan Mo - Side A Band

I was just blogging about Cory Aquino being the mom of this nation. As I also dedicated this month to be an OPM blog month, this song is on top of the list.

I am an OPM and OPM band fand. I have declared this a lot of times already. I used to collect cassette tapes of the local bands and one of my collections is this: Side A Band. If I am not mistaken, this is included in their The best of Side A band album. Although I know this is a revival.

Ryan Cayabyab is a respected musician in our country. I have long heard of his name even during Ang Bagong Kampeon days with Bert Marcelo and Pilita Corrales.

I would still want to recognize Cory Aquino as the mother of this nation. She was, she is and she will always be...

Now for the translation:

TRANSLATION OF THE SONG
Iduyan mo (Rock me)
Composed by Ryan Cayabyab

Iduyan mo ang duyan ko (Rock my cradle)
Unti-unting itulak mo at babalik sa isip ko (Slowly push it and it will come back to my mind)
Nang dati na sa kandungan mo (the past when I was still in your lap)

Iduyan mo ang duyan ko (Rock my cradle)
Unti-unting itulak mo at pakikinggan ang awit mo (Slowly push it and I will listen to your song)
Sa liwanang ng buwan mahihimbing ako (In the brightness of the moon, I will be sound asleep)

Iduyan mo ang duyan ko (Rock my cradle)
Unti-unting itulak mo (Slowly push it)
at mananaginip habang mundo'y tahimik (And I'll dream while the world is silent)
Tila agilang pilit maabot ang langit (Like an eagle trying hard to reach heaven)

Iduyan mo ang duyan ko (Rock my cradle)
Unti-unting itulak mo at (Slowly push it and)
kung maaaring pihitin ang mundo pabalik (If it's possible to tilt the world backward)
Sana'y iduyan mo ang duyan ko muli (I hope you will rock my cradle again)

(Instrumental)

Iduyan mo ang duyan ko
Unti-unting itulak mo at
kung maaaring pihitin ang mundo pabalik,
Sana'y iduyan mo ang duyan ko muli

*Duyan is a noun which means cradle. "Cradle my cradle" is the literal translation of the phrase "Iduyan mo and duyan ko" but what the composer really meant is for someone to "rock" the cradle. Have someone move the cradle as in letting the baby on the cradle go to sleep.
