And I Love You So - Don McLean

I was in a public transport yesterday and the radio station played this song by Don McLean. I am very sure about the singer and the title because this is a song I grew up with. This song reminds me so much of my childhood and one particular moment is when a dear "lola" went ahead of us to meet the Creator.

I paused, I wonder why this song reminded me of my lola. After some recollection, I realized she had been separated from us exactly 18 years come April 13. The times I am reminded of such "departure" in the family, I never forget to say a prayer for them. It so happened also that today, the Christian world recognizes the triumph of Jesus Christ over death. He is risen from the dead. When we remember our departed loved ones, they triumph with Christ. And... o yeah! Today Jesus wants to tell us "And I love you so!" Now I remember my lola, I remember my victorious Christ!

(LYRICS) AND I LOVE YOU SO - DON MCLEAN
And I love you so.
The people ask me how,
How I've lived til now.
I tell them I don't know.

I guess they understand
How lonely life has been.
But life began again
The day you took my hand.

And, yes, I know how lonely life can be.
The shadows follow me, and the night won't set me free.
But I don't let the evening get me down
Now that you're around me.

And you love me, too.
Your thoughts are just for me;
You set my spirit free.
I'm happy that you do.

The book of life is brief
And once a page is read,
All but love is dead.
That is my belief.

And, yes, I know how loveless life can be.
The shadows follow me, and the night won't set me free.
But I don't let the evening bring me down
Now that you're around me.

And I love you so.
The people ask me how,
How I've lived till now.
I tell them, "i don't know."
